Help me find a good free PC rpg game?
I am looking for an online or downloadable non-linear RPG game. I have Morrowind that I used to love to play, but its really too much for my ancient computer (real choppy when there is a lot of movement on the screen). I’m considering runescape. I tried it recently and it was acting screwy too. Don’t know if its the computer or lagging from the server. I thought that it automatically adjusts the game quality to your computer performance. Also, I have to shamefully admit that I’ve been playing animal crossing as well, just to pass the time. I like the aspect of buying furniture to decorate a house and whatnot. I’d love to play WoW, but I’m not in a position to pay for a subscription, and I can’t really play any recent games anyway, because of this old computer.
Anyway, anybody mind helping me out? I’m not concerned about the best graphics or anything. Just looking for a good time killer that involves collecting, hunting, and trading stuff.

LikeDislikeRunes of Magic is pretty decent. Its nearly 1to1 WoW but a good copy is better that badly reinvented.
Others are Silkroad, Atlantica, Last Chaos, Metin 2.

LikeDislikeLotRO has a free version now. I was in beta for a bit and it’s really interesting. It’s a bit like WoW, and if you like LotR is awesome. The graphics can be turned down quite a bit on it to adjust to your computer if need be. Hopefully that helps, good luck. ;D

LikeDislikeRunescape is a great game, as is Animal Crossing.
Lol, you should try it out again and try to turn the graphics all the way down, or just do an auto setup of the graphics to see if that helps out. You’re just gonna have to update your computer in order to play games decently.

LikeDislikeThe only free online game that i’ve played that was worthwhile was Runescape. Though eventually you’ll almost need the 5/month members fee, that’s still not much, and you don’t need to use a credit card anymore, can just get a prepaid card. Free games are fun, but if you want some real entertainment from them you’ll probably have to upgrade to a monthly fee one.
